I awoke at 3.30 am with torrential rain hitting our windows. We have floor to ceiling windows so it made a lot of noise. I immediately thought of Hannah's bathroom. I also realize that it is October 1st and wonder what happened to September? It went by so fast.
Anyway, I was thrilled to get an email from Hannah asking if I would like to meet her for lunch. Well, thats a no brainer. She is so good to me, I am so happy that she is willing to spend this time with me - I love it.
We cannot believe the amount of rain that is falling. Apparently the commute into Manhattan is a nightmare today with roads and subways flooded. Terry decides, he can work from home today and he does.
I leave the apartment around 10.45 am to meet Hannah at 11.45 am - one of her classes has been cancelled so she has a really short day. We meet and walk to a soup and sandwich place called "Hale and Hearty" I think it is on 17th between 5th and Madison. We have a lovely lunch and chat about the seminar she attended last night about the economy. The speaker was saying that the US is still in very big trouble and the recession is not over by any means. After lunch we head over to TJ Max on 6th Avenue (also known as Avenue of the Americas). We see nothing that encourage us to buy - so sorry we cannot help the economy today.
On Hannah's bathroom front - fingers crossed - but so far so good. Do you think it really could be fixed? I am so happy if this is the end of this saga BUT could this not have been done in MAY. Anyway, we are very happy.
Hannah heads downtown on the "F" train and I take the same train uptown. She apparently has a nap as a bunch of them are going out tonight to hear a friend of hers play with his band in a club. It is also Frankys birthday. Oh, a very fun thing happened to her last night. Norah Jones just arrived at a club they were in and started singing. Nora apparently does this. If she likes the group that is singing she joins them. Hannah got a very nice photo on her Blackberry.
Terry goes out for a run in between rain showers - unfortunately one of the showers catch up with him. We have supper and try to catch up with the PVR.
We pack and get ready for a mini adventure. We are leaving tomorrow for Washington DC. There is a meeting there for Terry. I have never been there before and am looking forward to it. We will be there for 4 nights, returning late on Wednesday night.
Talk to you from DC
