Bye Bye to the Fab 5

Jacquie and Verna leave this morning, October 14th.  Jacquie returns to Vancouver and Verna will stay in Toronto to attend her son Alex's soccer tournament.  Heather packs up and - goes shopping- her flight is not until the evening.  She is on a quest for a handbag.
Terry works from home today and I catch up with bits and bobs.  We go out to pick up some groceries.  I make some bruchetta and soup for supper.  Heather arrives around 5.30 as she will go to the airport from our place.  She still has not seen Hannah's apartment so we head off on the subway for a quick visit.  Hannah has been at her internship all day and has just returned home herself.  We visit very briefly and take a cab back to our apartment.  The rain returns .....  The car comes to pick Heather up at 7.30 pm.  The traffic is bad,  it takes her and hour and a half to get to JFK.  Vancouver here she comes.

I received an email from Maria Entis telling me she would be in town this week.  We decide to meet for lunch on Friday.  On my way to meet her I walk past this beautiful townhouse decorated for fall.

We meet at her hotel The Michelangelo on 51st Street and walk around the corner to a Japanese restaurant that Maria recommends, Soba Nippon.  We each have a lovely bowl of soba noodle soup.  It is cold and windy today so the soup hits the spot. We have a nice visit catching up with each others news.  After lunch we pop into the MOMA shop and design store.  I buy an umbrella that I have had my eye on.  When you open the umbrella the inside is a beautiful blue sky with white fluffy clouds.   Maria heads up to the MET and I head home.  I skype with Roision and make some business phone calls back to Vancouver.
A quiet evening at home is enjoyed by both Terry and I.

Till next time
