WEDNESDAY
This is the last day in Manhattan for Jacquie, Verna and Heather. They each have different thing they want to accomplish. Heather would like to go back to see another play, I volunteer to join her. She very kindly offers to get up and line up at the TKTS counter for half price tickets. You never really know what is going to be available until you get there.
Verna and Jacquie want to go to MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) - which they do. They then take in a walking tour of Grand Central Terminal. This tour is only available at 12.30 pm on Wednesdays. They really enjoy this. They then split up and each go on their own shopping trip. Jacquie manages to touch base with a friend of hers who lives in Manhattan.
In the meantime, Heather has managed to get tickets for "In the Heights" starring Jordan Sparks (American Idol Winner). We have a quick bite to eat before heading for the matinee.
"In the Heights" is very good. Lots of hip hop and latin dancing. A bit of rapping (which we understand) and lots of great singing and very funny lines. We thoroughly enjoy ourselves.
We head back to the Aka and have some cheese and wine. Verna is already there, Jacquie arrives a little later and then Terry comes over to join us. We have planned on going our for dinner - last evening in Manhattan and all that.
We all get on the subway and head off to Little Italy.
We arrive at Canal Street and walk to Mulberry Street which is the main drag for Little Italy. It is so pretty down here and so many Italian restaurants all with homemade pasta. We choose one "Cafe Napoli" (there is Naples again Peggy). We order some wine while we look over the menu. Jacquie invites her friend Deborah ( sorry Deborah if I misspelt your name) to join us if she can - and she can. It is lovely to sit and chat to a true New Yorker. Deborah has lived here her whole life.
We have some delicious pasta. Jacquie and Deborah go off to visit and catch up while the rest of us order another bottle of wine and sit and chat for a while.

We walk up Mulberry Street to West Houston where we take the subway. Verna and Heather get off at 42nd Street and Terry and I continue uptown to 63rd and Lexington.
It has been another wonderful day. I should mention it is a wonderful day for another reason -
IT IS JONATHAN'S BIRTHDAY ...... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY SON. We get to chat for a wee while. Sounds like he had a wonderful day too.
