4 mom's + 4 teenage daughters in the Big Apple

Heather arrives from Vancouver around 8.30 am and crawls into bed for a nap.  Verna and Jacquie go find some coffee and breakfast things for the girls.
We all meet up at Filene's Basement in Union Square to do some serious shopping.  When you get the bill from this store it tells you how much money you saved - just don't look at how much you had to spend to save that amount.  Let's just say Heather got 4 pairs of fabulous shoes - you know she saved a lot.  After this the girls are hungry.  We head to the other side of Union Square to a very nice restaurant called "Republic" Vietnamese I think.   Jacquie and Dallas have eaten there before.  We have a lovely lunch.
Now that we have some sustenance in us - back to the shopping.  The girls go to Forever 21 and the mom's head to Nordstrom's Rack.  More bargains are to be found.

We hear from the girls that they are very excited about Thanksgiving.  They think Thanksgiving is great with one mom, how great is it going to be with four mom's cooking for them.  The moms had not planned on cooking, mmmmmm   We think about it and come up with a compromise.  We head to Whole Foods and order a cooked turkey for 10, gravy, wheat berry salad, cranberry relish, apple pie and pumpkin pie.  We will do the potatoes and veggies.  It will be delivered at 7 pm Sunday night to the loft in Soho. (you can get anything delivered in New York)  Because it is Canadian Thanksgiving and not American Thanksgiving it is a little harder to get things organized.  The girl in Whole Foods was very helpful.

Now you might think that this is enough shopping for one day but these Canadians only have a few days in New York and they know that President Obama needs the economy kick started somehow.  They have willingly taken on this challenge so - to Bloomingdale's we go.  We take the subway up to Lexington and 59th, which just happens to be my stop - we are in my neck of the woods now - the Upper East Side.

We make it to Bloomingdale's ....

More shopping takes place (remember we are helping the President).  Actually, I think there is more trying on than buying.  We are feeling a little rushed here as the store closes at 7 pm and it is getting very close to that.  We leave Bloomingdale's at 59th and Lexington  and walk to our apartment at 1st and 62nd - which is 3 avenues and 3 streets away.  When we arrive at the apartment Terry has the cheese, crackers and wine (of course) all set out for us. He is so good.   We give the tour of our apartment and all sit down to rest our weary bodies.  It has been a very good day.

Our day is over but the Soho loft people apparently have a party on their hands.  The girls have invited Hannah and a bunch of her friends over to the loft tonight for a get together (thats what I would call it - don't know the more modern term).  I will find out tomorrow and let you know.  They leave the Upper East Side in 2 cabs and head to Soho - good luck.
I did hear Heather say something about earplugs.

Till tomorrow - and "WICKED"
