Today is the day I am left alone.
Terry heads off to Quebec City to present a paper at a conference. He leaves around lunch time.
I head out after that to 18th and 5th to Barnes and Noble, a book store. It is well set up for students of the New School. Hannah has given me a list of textbooks that she needs. There is a blue line on the floor of the store with instructions to "follow the blue line for The New School". Way at the back of the store is where I find all of the New School books. The girls there are very helpful. I find 3 of the 4 books, the fourth one is sold out but replacements are expected in a couple of days. Hannah has managed to get a couple of other books from friends. $250 later ( 2 of the books are used) I leave the store.
On my way back to the subway I just happen to pass by the Kate Spade store - I have to have a look. There might be a new handbag in my future. I do have a birthday coming up .......
I pick up some groceries from the Food Emporium before heading home. These textbooks are heavy....
I watch some tennis on tv - Rebecca Marino from Vancouver plays so well against Venus. Even Venus seems impressed. She looses in 2 sets but does take Venus to a tiebreak in the first.
Next, I am back to Bed Bath and Beyond - they must be sick of me by now. It is just so convenient, it is one block from our apartment. Miss Hannah is looking for red sheets. I find some and buy them, I will use them for the air mattress for Roision before I send them over to Hannah. The sofa bed that I thought Roision could sleep in does not look very comfortable. The sofa itself is comfortable - the mattress leaves a lot to be desired. We will figure something out.
I try to call a couple of friends in Vancouver but it appears everyone is out and about. I do get to chat to Jonathan. He has moved out of his sublet and is staying with a family from his Parish until Tuesday when he can move into the house he has rented. I spend the evening watching the tennis - Roddick looses - and working on my quilt.
I get to Skype with Terry in Quebec - all seems well there.
Roision arrives tomorrow morning, I will wait for her in our lobby.
Talk to you later.
