Dinner last night was very nice. Italian. We did take some pictures - I promise that within the next little while I will get Hannah to help me post them on here. Hannah and Franky did join us which was a thrill for us. It is always nice when the "young" folks spend time with us. After dinner, we returned home to watch the US Open - it really is hard to get used to being on the east coast for these night matches at the US Open. Games that start at 11pm really start at 11pm and not 8pm on the west coast. Could not stay awake to watch Rafa last night.
This morning Roision and I walked to Lexington and 78th (12 blocks north and 3 blocks west) we were on a quest to find a store called "The Vegan Diva's". Roision is vegetarian so we thought this might be a good place for coffee. When we got there we discovered it is actually a grocery store that stocks a few shelves of baked goods by the Vegan Diva's. Anyway, we bought some cookies, bagels and cream cheese and headed to the nearest Starbucks for our coffee and muffin.
On our way home we pop into a beautiful Catholic Church. I am trying to see how many Catholic Churches I can find while here in Manhattan. This one is on Lexington and 76th. It is St. Vincent Ferrer Church. The stained glass windows are exquisite. St. Vincent, we discover, was born in Valencia, Spain. We find that of interest as Roision lives in Spain. I hope to post a picture of the windows - so beautiful. We get home just after noon and have a quiet afternoon. Roision gets packed and ready for her evening flight. Terry gets home and we have a very light supper before the car from Carmel arrives to take Roision to the airport. It has been so good to have her here, we have had a wonderful week.
Terry and I are sitting watching the tennis while he plays his guitar. Actually I am waiting for the washer - got the sheets and towels done tonight. Tennis and laundry - how do you spend your Wednesday evening?
Talk to you tomorrow.
