MONDAY was a fairly quiet day for us here in NYC. It is much cooler now, barely made it to 50 degrees today. The sun was shinning and the sky was blue so if you were dressed appropriately it was great.
Terry had a long conference call this evening. I watched a little tv until the highlight of the day
- THE CANUCKS ON TV. I was able to see them on tv only because they were playing the New Jersey Devils. I guess they have three teams here with the Devils, the Rangers and the Islanders. Usually you can find one of those teams on tv to watch. This is the first Canucks game we have seen this season. It was a good one 3 - 0 Canucks. The bad news is because they were playing in Vancouver the game did not start until 10 pm NY time. I did stay up to see it to the end. Last week Hannah went to see the Islanders against the Canadiens. Her friend Franky is from Montreal. We miss our hockey.
TUESDAY, another sunny, but cool day here in the big apple. I went for a little walk this morning and when I returned home my friend Julia was on "Skype". We had a wonderful visit.
I started making mac and cheese for supper. I was really trying to persuade Hannah to come for supper and I thought the mac and cheese might do it. We have tickets to the theatre tonight. She thought she could not make it and would just meet us at the theatre. Between classes she called me to tell me she would come and join us for supper - it worked.
We went over to the Gerald Schoenburg theatre to see "Life in the Theatre" with Sir Patrick Stewart (Captain Piccard from Star Trek) and T J Knight (from Grey's Anatomy). There were some very funny parts in this play. It is a David Mamet play. I am not sure if I am a Mamet fan or not, but I did want to see Patrick Stewart.
A LIFE IN THE THEATRE
Mamet also wrote Glengary Glenross which just had a run at the Stanley in Vancouver with Eric McCormick (Will and Grace)
As usual, Times Square is buzzing as we make our way to the subway.
This is a large screen showing people in Times Square. We are somewhere in the mix on that screen.
TIMES SQUARE 9pm NOVEMBER 2nd 2010
